September 2nd

We had a very busy and enjoyable day in London on Friday culminating in a lovely evening in Greenwich. Sadly the next day we had to cut our trip short because Lin had developed severe abdominal pain.

Lin had to be admitted to St Mary's Hospital on Saturday night and then on Monday she was moved to the Earl Mounbatten Hospice.

She is in a wonderfully calm and restful place and is doing fine now that the pain is under control.
I will keep you posted.

    Thankyou for letting us know Chris. I had been concerned that Saturday was a step too far for Lin but it was lovely to meet you both in person. In am glad she is now more comfortable.

    Hi Chris,glad to hear Lin is feeling a bit stronger Gerald told me he spoke to her last night. Please tell her I've now finished her book which brought back loads of great memories from childhood. However tell her I would take issue of her description of Gerald on p35 and I quote"He grew to be strong and handsome". Having been friends for 50 years plus this does not strike exactly true unless one allows for poetic licence!!!!

    Thank you for letting us know. I just emailed Lin yesterday after reading the blog.

    Send her my (our) love and let her know that I'm (we're) thinking about her and hoping this is a temporary blip and that she'll be back out there giving it all she's got!
